QotD: Pet Project

Do you have a pet? What kind of pet do you own, and why did you choose it?

I have two dogs. Eris and Fox.

Fox is a chocolate tri-colour border collie. We chose him because we were looking at young dogs that needed rehoming. Fox is 5 months old and his original family had to get rid of him due to problems with their landlord. They found it really hard to part with him. We've only had him a week but he seems to have settled right in and gets on well with our other dog.

Eris is a German Shepherd. We chose her for a few reasons. We wanted a second dog because our dog Tempest's Epilepsy was getting worse and we didn't know how much longer he'd be around. We shortlisted breeds and wanted either a German shepherd or a black Labrador. When we went to see the pups we chose Eris because she buried her head straight into my Wife's handbag.

Our previous dog was Tempest, a liver-spotted dalmatian. Unfortunately he had epilepsy and we had to have him put down last year. We chose him because I wanted a dalmatian (my sister had one so I knew what I was letting us in for; my wife wasn't quite so prepared). He was totally nuts but we loved him to bits and he is definitely missed.
